Introducing Tazewell Chiropractor Dr. Chris Brown

I thank god everyday for allowing me to use my talents as a chiropractor. I have been given the opportunity to help others achieve greater health and wellbeing with chiropractic. Everyday I get to witness miracles.

Dr. Chris Brown, Tazewell Chiropractor

I was introduced to chiropractic by Wendy and Lee Willis in Wytheville. They suggested that I consider chiropractic. I followed Wendy around for a few days in her office and was amazed by it. She obviously loved what she did and her practice members loved being in her office and the results they had received. The more I learned the more I realized that sure chiropractic helps back and neck pain, but that certainly was not its purpose. Chiropractic helps you express health by restoring optimal (normal) nerve function. With a properly functioning nervous system, you are a better and healthier version of you! I realized that as a chiropractor I could serve others and make a difference.

I received my undergraduate degree from Westfield State College in 1991. I matriculated into Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1995. The four years between I lived in Utah and worked with children at Snowbird ski and summer resort. My favorite course at Palmer was "CNS" or central nervous system. The class opened my eyes to the magnificent design and order of the human being. The power that made the body continues throughout life regulating, controlling and healing the body.

My practice is the avenue I use to educate the people of my community about a new and better way of reaching and maintaining optimal health and wellbeing. Most practice members come to our office with some type of symptom. In fact, most of us have been conditioned to grade our health based on our symptoms. History and science have proven that this way of doing things isn't working too well for us. In fact, we are one of the sickest industrialized countries in the world! We give people options. If they only want the symptom treated, although not my recommendation, we will honor their request. Most want the cause of the symptom addressed when given the option, and more and more are making chiropractic part of a healthy lifestyle. We are committed to helping people make informed decisions about their health, and then helping them reach their goals. My favorite part of practice is helping my practice members realize and reach their health potential so they can live a healthier, happier life.

I live here in Tazewell with my wife Melissa and our three children, Elizabeth, Audrey and Sophia. My favorite thing in the world is my family and we play hard together. When I am not at work or with my family, you will find me on the roads of Tazewell and the surrounding counties on my bicycle (so please pass safely!).

Chiropractic care for me is a vital part of my and my families health. I check my family (and my team) weekly and I myself drive to Bluefield to Dr. Dales weekly to have my spine checked for subluxation. Chiropractic is only part of the health puzzle. I also exercise five or six days per week, usually riding my bicycle, but also some running and weightlifting. My family also works out regularly, the kids play hard, we limit television (no video games allowed!), and they spend a great deal of time outside, just like most of us adults did as children. You have probably seen my wife Melissa running up and down Fincastle Drive.

Another piece of the health puzzle is nutrition. Our bodies require vegetables, fruits, and protein so that makes up the bulk of our diets. We also buy local and/or organic as much as possible. We limit our intake of grains and dairy because research has shown that we don't need it and, in many cases, they rob us of our health. We don't take drugs what most people call medications because they are poison. Drugs are not required ingredients for the body to function normally or for health, so taking them will never improve your health. In fact, all drugs (medications included) are poisons that we use in sub-poisonous doses. Are there times when medications are needed?  Yes, I think so. But consider the United States makes up about three percent of the world's population and we consume over 50 percent of the world's drugs!

Enough about me! How can we help you with today's safe and natural chiropractic care? Give us a call so we can help you take your first step towards better health.

Dr. Chris Asks some important questions of interest to Tazewell residents - Chiropractor Tazewell Dr. Chris Asks...

What controls every cell, tissue and organ of your body?
DNA? Wrong. Immune system? Wrong? Hormones? Wrong. It's your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body. When a chiropractor sees a Tazewell practice member with say, stomach problems, we want to know why the brain is unable to properly control and regulate the stomach. Which prompts us to examine the nervous system—the focus of chiropractic care.
Why are chiropractors wary of the germ theory?
Louis Pasteur originated the idea that germs caused disease. Yet, on his deathbed he recanted, declaring, "It's not the seed, but the soil." Meaning, it's not the germ that causes disease, but the condition of the body that allows the germ to thrive. Chiropractic care in our Tazewell office is designed to bolster your resistance so germs don't see you as a good host.
